Four Flags Area Apple Festival Youth Day schedule

NILES — The Four Flags Area Apple Festival events will be underway this weekend. The official festival will take place Sept. 27 to Sept. 30. First, youth will get to a enjoy a full day of festivities. Here is what is on tap for this year’s Youth Day.
Registration for the Trike and Big Wheel Race begins at 8:30 a.m. The race begins at 9 a.m. This activity has three age groups: ages 2 to 3, 4 to 5, and 6 to 7. The race takes place in the Ring Lardner parking lot.
At 10:30 a.m., this year’s prince and princess will be selected. Prince and princess candidates must be between 5 and 8 years old. Pre-registration is required. Winners will be selected by random drawing during the Youth Day festivities on the Apple Festival grounds. The prince and princess will participate alongside the court of honor in parades and events throughout the year.
At 12:30 p.m., those participating in the youth parade will line up. The parade begins at 1 p.m. and runs from Eastside Park to 17th Street and back to the Apple Festival grounds.
Throughout Youth Day, attendees can also participate in children’s games and a bounce house, and eat hotdogs and cotton candy on the grounds. A magic show will be performed from 2 to 2:30 p.m.
