MILTON TOWNSHIP — A South Bend resident was injured in a Milton Township crash Monday, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Cass County Sheriff Richard Behnke reported that at approximately 4:10 p.m. Monday his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash that occurred on US-12 near Gumwood Road in Milton Township.

Initial investigation shows that Shanyn Leigh Green, 47, of South Bend, was driving a motorcycle in the westbound lane on US-12, when a vehicle turned into her from Gumwood Road, causing her motorcycle to overturn.

The driver of the vehicle that turned in front of Green was 83-year-old Donna Carter Fuson, of Dowagiac.

Green was taken to South Bend Memorial by SMCAS EMS. Green suffered minor injuries, and she was not wearing a helmet during the time of the crash.

Deputies have determined that alcohol was not a factor in this crash.
