Rangers rout Raiders 41-0

CASSOPOLIS — Tyrese Hunt-Thompson and Owen Gardner both scored a pair of touchdowns as host Cassopolis routed Decatur 41-0 in Southwest 10 Conference action Thursday night.

Hunt-Thompson returned the opening kickoff 70 yards to get the Rangers rolling to their second straight victory.

Cassopolis has now outscored its opponents 118-0.

Hunt-Thompson, who finished with 38 yards rushing on three carries, also scored on a 14-yard run.

Gardner, who ran for 78 yards on seven carries, scored on runs of seven and 56 yards.

Mason Polomcak and J.J. Hart also scored for Cassopolis, which finished with 292 yards rushing and 375 in total offense, on runs of 17 and 33 yards.

Dylan Green was 8-of-10 for 83 yards passing.

The Rangers’ defense was outstanding for the second straight week as it held the Raidersto 96 yards of total offense.

Gage Collins led the defensive charge with 12 tackles, while Mathew Anderson added 10 stops.

Green had nine tackles, including a sack.

Cassopolis will play its third consecutive home game to start the season as it hosts White Pigeon at 7 p.m. Friday night.
