NILES — The band Little Something will play today at the Riverfront Park Amphitheater as part of the Summer Concerts in the Park series.

Little Something will perform at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. In the event of rain, the band will play at the Niles District Library, 620 E. Main St.

Little Something plays Indie and Americana style music. The South Bend-based band includes members Anna Smous, Scott Vaerewyck, David Mortimer, Tony Leininger and Randy Norris.

The Summer Concerts in the Park series began May 31 and will take place every Thursday  through Sept. 6. The series  is sponsored by local businesses. Each concert also serves as a way to spread awareness and raise funds for local nonprofits. This week, the Niles Burn Run will be the recipient of community donations.

The Niles Burn Run raises money for youth burn victims to go to the Great Lakes Burn Camp. The summer camp seeks to provide fun youth activities and boost the participants’ self-esteem.

Those who attend the concert are also encouraged to bring supply donations for the Niles District Library’s Teacher School Supply Drive, which runs through Aug. 31.
