BENTON HARBOR — Lake Michigan College is seeking public comments about the college in preparation for its periodic evaluation by its regional accrediting agency, the Higher Learning Commission.

The college will host a visit on Nov. 12 to 13, from a team of peer reviewers representing the HLC. The team will review the institution’s ongoing ability to meet HLC’s Criteria for Accreditation. Lake Michigan College has been accredited by HLC since 1962.

Comments must be in writing and must address substantive matters related to the quality of the institution or its academic programs. They can be submitted online at hlcommission.org/comment or by mail, but all comments must be received by Oct. 8.

The Higher Learning Commission is an independent corporation that was founded in 1895 as one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States. The HLC accredits degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in the North Central region of the United States.

Submit comments on the Higher Learning Commission Website, at: hlcommission.org/Student-Resources/third-party-comment.html.
