CASSOPOLIS — The carnival at Cass County Fair officially opened at 5 p.m. yesterday, and dozens of fairgoers showed up to enjoy their favorite rides.

For instance, Tara Phillips travelled from Dowagiac with her two children. They show up to the fair every year for the rides and plan to be back almost every day this week. Their favorite ride is the zipper.

“You just flip over and over,” Phillips said. “It’s really fun.”

The carnival opens at 2 p.m. today through Friday and at noon on Saturday.
