Howard Township man robbed at gunpoint

HOWARD TOWNSHIP — Three suspects under the age of 18 were taken into custody after robbing a Howard Township man at gunpoint Tuesday, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.
Police were notified at 6:43 p.m. Tuesday that a robbery had occurred at a residence near Barron Lake. Several teenagers expressed interest in purchasing one of his vehicles approached the victim, and during a ride in the vehicle, one of the suspects produced a handgun and robbed the victim.
The three suspects fled on foot, but were later located by K9 Faust at a residence on Huntly Road.
All three suspects were taken into custody. The oldest suspect, a 17-year-old male from Niles, was lodged at the Cass County Jail. The other two suspects, aged 16 and 15 years respectively, were transported to a juvenile facility. The name of the 17-year-old will be released after arraignment.
Two handguns were recovered during a search warrant at the address the suspects were apprehended.
