It is not too late to register for the Cass District Library summer reading program. In order to do so, residents can visit their local branch library to register.

The summer club is open to all ages and free to join. The Cass District Library is also having a T-shirt design contest this summer. Entries need to be original works of art and turned in by Saturday, July 21. The winning design will be featured on the library’s T-shirts that will be used as prizes for this year’s Summer Library Club. An entry form with all the rules can be picked up at the library.

There are many family friendly programs being offered in July as well. The programs are free to attend and some may require registration due to limited space availability. A wizard wands craft day will be offered. Participants will create their own wand! Registration is required, please call the branch you want to attend to sign-up. Kennedy’s Kitchen Irish Musicians will be performing at different library branches on Thursday, July 19. There will be a rock club to teach kids about rocks and minerals and a rock painting class taught by members of Cass Area Artists. People can stop into the library to pick up a calendar and include the library in their summer plans.

Tuesday, July 10 — Rocks Rock! Club at 10 a.m. Call (269)487-9215 to register. The event is designed for children in third through fifth grade. The club will meet on Tuesdays for three weeks.

Friday, July 13 — Storytime Begins at 10 a.m. Fridays for four weeks. The event is designed for children ages three through five.

Wednesday, July 18 — Lunch Bunch Storytime at 11:30 a.m. Organizers ask that attendees bring their own lunch and listen to stories while they eat. Lunch Bunch will meet for four weeks.

Thursday, July 19 — Kennedy’s Kitchen Irish Music at 3 pm. The event is free and open to the public.
