One injured in Volinia Township crash
VOLINIA TOWNSHIP — A Kalamazoo woman was injured in a Volinia Township crash Wednesday, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the scene at 7:12 p.m. Wednesday, at 96th Avenue near Lawrence Road in Volinia Township.
An initial investigation shows that Ruth-Ann Geraldine Vermeulen, of Kalamazoo, was driving eastbound on 96th Avenue when she lost control of her vehicle, causing it to go off the roadway, into a ditch and strike a utility pole.
Vermeulen was transported by Pride Care ambulance to Lakeview Hospital in Paw Paw for minor injuries. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
Assisting agencies include Pride Care Ambulance and Marcellus EMS.
Cass County Historical Society meeting
DOWAGIAC — The Cass County Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, at the Cass District Library on M-62 West in Cassopolis.
