NILES — The Niles District Library seeks to build a community of lifelong learners who want to make Niles their lifelong home. A library card is not required to participate in any programs. All programs are free.

Tuesday, June 5
• 10:30 a.m. — Passport Pals
The community is invited for a special story time tour of the world. Each week, there will be books, songs, a craft, and other super surprises relating to the special country of the month.
• 1 to 2:30 p.m. —Triple P: Primary Care
This class is for parents who wish to learn a variety of parenting skills that will promote their child’s development and potential.
• 5 to 8 p.m. — SkillShare Open Shop
Skillshare is a library created workshop space downstairs for community members to share skills like patching drywall, fixing a leaky faucet, repairing small appliances, sewing, crafts, and hobbies. Anyone can drop in during open shop times and use the workshop and tools. This is also when Things can be checked out or returned.
• 6 to 6:30 p.m. — Chips and Chapters
Every Tuesday, Ms. Tara will read aloud from a chapter book, while participants eat chips and follow along. This is fun for all a
• 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. — Lego Building Challenge
A bucket of Legos will be provided to those wishing to create something.
• 7 to 9 p.m. — Niles Art Association
Meetings are free and open to the public, this is a group of local artists and supporters committed to “enriching our community through the arts.” This month’s featured artist is Kevin Gross, presenting “Feeling the Numbers: Fractals- the Pattern of Everything”. He has an exhibit at BAC until May 25.

• Multiple times – Storytime day
Squealers (birth-18 months) at 9:30 a.m., squeakers (18 months-3 years) at 10 a.m., squigglers (18 months-5 years) at 10:30 a.m., story time (children ages 3+) at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
• 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Medicare Made Clear
This is an educational seminar. People can learn all about their Medicare choices, as well as tools and resources.
• 1 to 4 p.m. — Michigan Works/ Kinexus
Talent Development Specialists can help those in need register for unemployment, evaluate their strengths and skills, edit or help update their resume, sharpen interview skills and more.
• 5 to 7 p.m. — Triple P Family Transition: Managing Conflict
This class will assist people in separation, co-parenting and divorce. Those who participate will learn about the key principles to promoting a positive outcome for their child following divorce or separation.
• 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. — Niles Public Arts Commission
• 7 to 8 p.m. —CDA Niles
Chemically Dependent Anonymous is a 12-step fellowship for anyone seeking freedom from drug and alcohol addiction. The CDA does not make distinctions in the recovery process based on any particular substance. The basis of the program is abstinence from all mood-changing and mind-altering chemicals, including street-type drugs, alcohol, and unnecessary medication.
