Michigan Youth Arts Festival features local high school artists

EDWARDSBURG — Edwardsburg High School students Kara Tredway and Natalie Rarick, have been selected as Michigan Youth Arts Distinguished Scholars in creative writing, and were invited to participate in the 56th annual Michigan Youth Arts Festival from May 10 to 12 at Western Michigan University.

Nearly 1,000 Michigan high school student artists have been invited to attend this year’s festival. The invited scholars represent multiple artistic disciplines, including creative writing, dance, film/video, instrumental and vocal music, music composition, theater and visual art.

This three-day event features workshops and master classes for the students, alongside more than 20 student performances and exhibitions, which are open to the public.
