DOWAGIAC — The Dowagiac Middle School wrestling team hosted Edwardsburg and Paw Paw last week and won 24 out of 44 matches.

“We are going in the right direction the athletes are trying and not quitting,” Dowagiac coach Andy Crawley said. “That’s all we can ask from them is to keep working.”

Winning a pair of matches for the Chieftains were Jesse Szymonski, D.J. Rimpson, Jordan Simpson, Dustin Sirk, Korey Kinyon, Aaron Lucio and Taven Livingston.

Picking up just one win were Cody White, Nicholas Green, Karsen Kinyon, Jorge Benitez, Matthew Owen, Malakai Haines, Braqsten Whitaker, Johnathan Phillips, Brayan Paredes and Roman Saldana.

Dowagiac competed at an invitational in Decatur on Saturday. Results from that match will be in Wednesday’s Daily News.
