Dowagiac man injured in traffic accident
CASSOPOLIS — An adult and a pair of children were transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle accident outside Cassopolis Wednesday afternoon, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were dispatched to a reported accident at the intersection of M-60 and Dailey Road around 3:52 p.m. The crash occurred when 30-year-old Julian Arreola, of Cassopolis, was driving west on M-60 toward Niles in his pickup truck when a northbound car driven by 37-year-old Michael Vaughn, of Dowagiac, pulled into the intersection after stopping at the stop sign, causing a collision between the two vehicles.
Vaughn was injured in the accident and was transported to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment. Two children riding with him at the time were also taken to the hospital.
Arreola was cleared by emergency personnel at the scene.
Seat belts were worn in the crash, and airbags were deployed in both vehicles. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this crash.
