Mary L Beck, 90, of Edwardsburg, after battling aging issues of dementia and recent strokes, passed on to be with the Lord early Friday morning Oct 27, 2017.

Mary was born in Buchanan Aug 10, 1927, and raised and worked in Niles for many years. She was a Niles High School graduated, Class of 1945, and worked at The Ready Theatre, The Paris Soda Shop, and even city hall before spending the next 45 years working for Simplicity Pattern Co. as a pattern hand folder.

In 1946, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, she married her Junior High School sweetheart and returning World War II Navy veteran Ray Beck. Ray work 45 years for Tyler’s Refrigeration, and they lived many years in the Niles Oak Manor neighborhood.

In their years before retirement, Ray built their little dream home on Eagle Lake in Edwardsburg, where they spent their retirement years between Eagle Lake in the summers and Port Charlotte Florida golfing in winters.

After Ray’s passing in 2008, Mary continued living at Eagle Lake. She will be greatly missed by us all.

She is survived by her children, Jerald Beck, Cheryl Yoder; grandchildren, Ian Beck, Kevin and Cindy Yoder, Izabela Mazurek; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Yoder, Dustin King, Wakili Johnson, Alyce Cartwright, and the Beck kids, Selah, Mercy Ann, and two-month-old Keziah.

There will be no services at this time. Halbritter Wickens Funeral Home, Niles, is assisting the family with arrangements.
