THREE RIVERS — The Dowagiac JV football team opened its season with a 48-12 win over host Vicksburg last Wednesday.

Dashawn Brooks scored a pair of touchdowns and added a 2-point conversion, while Timmy Howard and Deondre Henry each scored twice.

Hunter Williamson and Alex McIntosh each had a 2-point conversion.

The other touchdown was provided by the Chieftain defense as Nate Davis stripped the ball away from a Bulldog and returned it 30 yards for a score.

Defensive leaders were Tajaun Reed with a pair of interceptions and a fumble recovery, Lamberto Peredes and Williamson, who led the team in tackles.

Dowagiac travels to Three Rivers Wednesday night.
