Larry E. Drury, 79, of Niles, passed away following an illness on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Sanctuary of Holy Cross in South Bend, Indiana.

He was born Aug. 31, 1937, in Erie, Illinois, to the late Lawrence and Vada (Graham) Drury.

After graduating high school, Larry went on to further his education, obtaining his associate’s degree in business. He worked in the food and fruit industry for many years, including at Green Giant, Indian Summers, Clement Pappas and AMSafe, from where he retired.

He thoroughly enjoyed sports, especially watching Notre Dame football. Larry also enjoyed time outdoors fishing or playing a round of golf. Most of all, he looked forward to spending time with his family.

Larry is survived by his companion of 14 years, Linda Alexander of Niles; his daughters, Dawn Wood and Debbie Brady, both of San Antonio; his stepchildren, John (Andrea) Alexander of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Heather Alexander of Elkhart, Indiana; nine grandchildren; and his siblings, Susan Green of Maquoketa, Iowa, Beth Poling of Morrison, Illinois, and Ross (Kim) Drury of Lake In The Hills, Illinois.

In keeping with Larry’s wishes, a private family burial will be hosted in Silverbrook Cemetery.
