Upon returning home, he worked for Rudy Manufacturing in Dowagiac, where he never missed a day at work. There, he started out as a forklift driver and retired as the plant manager in 1999.

Robert had a true moral compass; he believed that a person should work hard, take care of their family and help others. He was a handyman who could “do it all,” from roofing on a house to running the electric.

Robert was a member of Moose Lodge 933 and a former member Elks Lodge 889 in Dowagiac. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed participating in many golf leagues.

Robert loved to go camping and take trips to Las Vegas.

Robert is survived by his wife, Shirley; children Bambi (DJ) Mingle of Jupiter, Florida, Scott Lamb of Dowagiac and Lora (Robert) Janssen-Myers of Indianapolis; grandchildren Julia, Tyler, Adam, Brooke, Danielle, Kara and Lindsay; great-grandchildren Penelope and Dorian; numerous nieces and nephews; and a large extended family.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings; daughter Barbara Danciu Audet; daughter-in-law Catherine Lamb; and granddaughter Leah Danciu.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Clark Chapel & Cremation Services.
