NILES - The music in downtown keeps on playing with the introduction of the Niles Bluegrass and Americana Roots Music concert series.
Each Sunday, a band who features these types of music will be gracing the stage at the Riverfront Cafe, located at 219 N. Front St., in downtown Niles.
The bands will be performing from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
The concerts are part of the fall concert series and are being sponsored in part by the Riverfront Optimist Club. The series is a continuation of the summer concert series which took place at the Riverfront Park's Amphitheater during the months of June, July and August.
This week's featured band is the Grenadiers, an acoustic, folk, rock band from St. Joseph.
Band members include Bob Flood, guitar, harmonica, vocals; Danny Dine, guitar and vocals; Missy White, vocals; Brandon Dinges, bass and Aaron Randall, on drums.
The bands plays selections from the Greatful Dead, Bob Dylan, Grand Parsons and the Byrds.
The Grenadiers became part of the fall concert series thanks to the work of Tom Majerek.
Bands to be featured include: the Deep Fried Pickle Project, Schultz Creek, Steppin In It, the Time Travelers, Goldmine Pickers, Wood N' Nickel, Greensky Bluegrass and Deadwood.
