Robert Dean Sibley, 81, of Niles, was welcomed into the arms of his Heavenly Father, Friday, March 24, 2017, at Buchanan Meadows.
He was born Sept. 25, 1935, in Marcellus Township, to Emery and Goldie (Wagner) Sibley.
He married Phyllis Lenora Spencer on July 20, 1956, in Cassopolis. She survives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Virginia Housenger and Mary Sibley; and one brother, Emery Carl Sibley.
Bob was a farmer and drove a gas tanker for 40 years. He restored antique Minneapolis Moline tractors. Bob was a history buff who enjoyed reading and watching documentaries about the Civil War and World War II. His family says he watched the movie “Pretty Woman” so many times he wore it out. Bob was an animated story teller.
Bob loved his family and regularly attended the events of the grandkids, whether they were for sports or 4-H or school. They will long remember the various ways their grandfather teased them and created lasting
memories.
Robert will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Phyllis (Spencer) Sibley of Niles; one daughter, Nora Lynn (Robert) Miller of Goshen; two sons, Dean (Mary Ann) Sibley of Greenville, South Carolina, and Thomas (Mary) Sibley of Niles; six grandchildren, Ashley (Tory) Vander Wey of Goshen, Angela Miller of Goshen, Indiana, Jonah Sibley of Niles, Nicholas Sibley of Niles, Jackson (Adrienne) Boone of Greenville and Alex Boone of North Carolina; two great-grandsons, Brayden Vander Wey and Rhett Vander Wey; two sisters, Donna Bell Schoff of Decatur and Katherine Huston of Bristol, Indiana; one sister-in-law, Pat Sibley of Dowagiac; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 N. Broadway St., Cassopolis. Mr. Sibley will be laid to rest in Prairie Grove Cemetery in Penn Township, Michigan.
