Niles Mayor Nick Shelton plays the drums as South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg plays keyboard at Vegetable Buddies in South Bend Saturday. The neighboring mayors joined half a dozen other musicians on stage as one of the “special guest” entertainment acts for One Good Deed, Michiana’s fourth annual benefit concert.
Shelton’s fiancée and Niles native Allison Hayes, of ABC 57 and the Big 10 Network, is chair of the organization.
In addition to live music, the event featured an art show by Paul Erdman and a live auction. All money raised will help One Good Deed Michiana recognize individuals who go above and beyond to help others in their communities.
