Bobbie “The Greens Man” Mikel, 87, of Cassopolis, died peacefully, Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at home in the presence of his family.

Bobbie was born March 20, 1929, in Wakelee, Michigan, to Elmer and Helen (Williams).

He married Cindra (Null) Davis, of Cassopolis, on May 11, 1987. She survives.

He is survived by his children, Connie Lego of Marcellus, Larry Mikel of Three Rivers, Timothy Davis of White Pigeon and Jeffrey Davis of Edwardsburg. Also surviving are five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; siblings Lyle (Rosalie) Mikel, Wanda Mikel, Cleo Mikel and Ronnie Mikel; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Wilda Mikel, Richie Mikel, Gordon Mikel and Iva Lesiewicz and Francis Norton, and granddaughters Michelle Davis and Bernice Mikel.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, stock car racing, playing cards and gardening. He was employed at Hayden Hardware from 1950 to 2014. He was a member of the Conservation Club, the snowmobile club, the Michigan Vintage Racers Association, the Newton Woods Association and Diamond Cove Missionary Church. He will be remembered as a man who helped everyone.

Bobbie will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017 at the funeral home, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday, with the Rev. Charles Keller officiating. Bobbie will be laid to rest in Edwardsburg Cemetery.

The family prefers contributions be made in Bobbies memory to Diamond Cove Missionary Church.
