Athlete Showcase: Cassopolis’ Tyrese Hunt-Thompson

Tyrese Hunt-Thompson is a sophomore on the Cassopolis boys basketball team.

 

What has been one of your greatest accomplishments as an athlete?

THT: Winning regionals.

 

What has been a hardship in your life?

THT: My uncle died when I was 12.

 

Who is a “hero” in your life and why?

THT: My mom and sister because I love them.

 

When are you the most nervous while you are competing?

THT: Probably right before the game.

 

Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.

THT: I’ve air balled before.

 

How do you tend to work out/train when by yourself?

THT: I got things at home I can do.

 

What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?

THT: Soccer.

 

Why are sports an important part of a high school experience?

THT: Because I would be bored without them.

 

How would you give away $50,000?

THT: Give some to the homeless people then buy stuff for me.

 

If you could be the head coach of a team for a year, what team would you choose?

THT: I would not want to be a coach.

If I did not play sports, I would…?

THT: Focus more on school.

 

What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?

THT: Dunking.

 

If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?

THT: The fouls, because I get hacked.

 

What is the best compliment you have ever received?

THT: I am cute.

 

What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?

THT: The dude from Berrien Springs that out ran our whole defense during football season.

 

What is your favorite hobby? Why?

THT: Shopping, because it is fun.
