Richard “Richie” Eric Henninger Jr., 37, of Dowagiac, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, after a brave battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at The Boyd Chapel of Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman, with the Rev. Jason Lukis officiating. As we celebrate Richie’s life on Saturday, you are invited to wear your favorite sports team apparel in his honor. Friends may meet with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hickory Bluff Cemetery in Stevensville.

Richie was born Dec. 16, 1978, in Edison, New Jersey, to Richard Eric Sr. and Ursula (Korsching) Henninger.

On March 22, 2014, Richie married the love of his life, Crystal Campbell.

Richie was a teacher in the Dowagiac Union Schools.

Richie is survived by his wife, Crystal; daughter Grace; mother Ursula; sister Erica (Jeff Stahl) Henninger-Stahl; nephew Greyson Lozada; brother-in-law Eric (Nicki) Campbell; sister-in-law Ashley (Anthony) Lozada; and mother-in-law and father-in-law Diane and Floyd Campbell.

His father, Richard Eric Henninger Sr., preceded Richie in death in 2011.
