Chamber event delights young and old alike

While there is still plenty of time between now and Dec. 25, visitors to downtown Dowagiac were feeling the Christmas spirit this weekend, during the Greater Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce’s annual Open House Weekend.

While parents found plenty to love inside the city’s various downtown shops, which offered expanded hours and discounts, children were enthralled by the fun offered during Saturday morning’s family activity day.

On top of visiting Santa Claus inside the Wood Fire, children had a chance to pet some miniature horses, raised by Dowagiac’s Whitney Podell, which were dressed up from mane to hoof with Christmas-themed regalia.
