Eddies, Rangers out of tourney

Edwardsburg and Cassopolis were ousted from the state volleyball tournament on Saturday.
Class B at St. Joseph
The Edwardsburg volleyball team reached the Class B semifinals with a 15-11, 5-15 and 15-9 victory over Niles in the opening match of the tournament at St. Joseph High School.
The Lady Eddies, however, were eliminated in the semifinals by Lakeshore, 15-8 and 15-9.
The Lady Lancers faced St. Joseph in the championship match, losing to the No. 4 ranked Lady Bears, 15-12 and 16-14. St. Joseph (50-11-3) reached the title match with a 15-1 and 15-8 win over Coloma.
In the semifinals, St. Joseph defeated Berrien Springs, 15-2 and 15-7.
Class C at Constantine
Host Constantine won the Class C district championship with a 15-8 and 15-5 win over Schoolcraft in the title match.
The Lady Falcons reached the championship match with a 9-15, 15-7 and 15-13 victory over White Pigeon. Schoolcraft defeated Marcellus, 16-14, 12-15 and 15-6 in the other semifinal. In the opening round of the tournament, Constantine defeated Centreville, 15-11, 13-15 and 15-10, while Marcellus defeated Cassopolis, 15-2 and 15-3.
