NILES - Brandywine's varsity soccer team ended in a 1-1 tie Monday evening with visiting Edwardsburg in a Lakeland Conference match.
The Eddies, now 9-3-2, currently hold the No. 1 spot in the LAC, but that didn't phase the Bobcats.
For most of the first half, both teams remained scoreless and unable to get any open shots at the goal.
That is until the 39th minute when Jeremy Watkins scored an unassisted goal for the Eddies to give them a 1-0 lead heading into the second half.
It appeared that Edwardsburg was going to walk away with a win over Brandywine, but with less than a minute to play in the game, Travis Duncan headed a cross from Josh Schlutt into the back of the net for a Bobcat goal.
As time expired, the score remained tied at one.
