Wine and beer event raises $29,000

The fifth annual Lee Memorial Foundation Wine and Beer event took place on Saturday, Aug. 6 at the Don and Vicary Blackmond Sesquicentennial Farm at Indian Lake.
The event raised a record-setting $29,000 for Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital, which will support patient care quipment in the areas of women’s health, radiology and cardiac rehabilitation.
The sold-out event welcomed 350 guests, who enjoyed wine and beer tastings from 12 Michigan wineries and breweries along with hors d’oeuvres while listening to the music of Mike Struwin and Company.
The evening also included a 20-item raffle with gifts ranging from Blackhawks, Bears and Notre Dame tickets to a fully stocked wine refrigerator, to local gift certificates.
