Thursday marked another changing of the guard for the members of the Dowagiac Rotary Club, as new club President Sandra Bessey officially took over leadership of the local service organization during the club’s meeting that afternoon at the Elks Lodge. Bessey, who owns her own hair dressing business in Dowagiac, succeeds outgoing President Jennifer Ray, who received a golden gavel from Bessey for her term the past year. Other new officers with the club include Marilu Franks, who takes over as Sergeant at Arms, and Cathy Merrill, who takes over as the club secretary.
