David and Joyce Steele, of Dowagiac, will celebrate their 65th anniversary this month. The couple was married June 23, 1951.

David is a retired truck driver and Joyce a retired homemaker.

They have six children: two sons, David Steele Jr. and Craig Steele Sr. and four daughters, Renee’ Grady, Dawn Nishanian, Cindy Haines and Gail Clay.

David and Joyce have 13 grandchildren: Craig Steele Jr., Kirt Steele, Karla Grady, Roderick Carpenter, Kathy Steele, Shevonne Spurlock, David Steele III, Krin Grady, Candi Steele, Ryan Grady, Erick Steele, Matthew Nishanian and Mia Nishanian. The couple has 11 great-grandchildren: Justin Grady-McCambridge, Jordan Grady, Loren Bowen, Mazy Steele, Haley Grady, Natalia Carpenter, Lauren Spurlock, Kami Steele, Olivia Grady-Garcia, Maya Spurlock and Valentina Carpenter.

They will celebrate their 65 years of marriage at home with their local children and grandchildren.
