The Edwardsburg Post Office collected 386 bags of food during its Stamp Out Hunger drive May 14.

The Edwardsburg community participated in Stamp Out Hunger, which is the nation’s largest food drive sponsored by the United States Postal Carriers.

As the saying goes, “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.”

And with less than favorable conditions that day the letter carriers fulfilled that promise by collecting 386 bags of food compared to the 255 bags collected last year.

All of the food collected went to the Edwardsburg Food Pantry where volunteers were waiting to unload and sort through the bags.

“Our letter carriers need to be thanked for the time they put into this project as well as the Edwardsburg community for their generosity,” Laura Jamrog said. “Edwardsburg came together to not only ‘stamp’ out hunger, but ‘stomp’ on it.”
