A new queen will be crowned this weekend in Buchanan to represent the city in the annual Miss Blossomtime Pageant.

Twelve girls will compete for the title of Miss Buchanan 2016 when the pageant begins at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, inside the Buchanan High School auditorium, which is located at 401 W. Chicago St.

Doors open at 5 p.m.

The theme for this year’s event is “Space Jam.”

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in advance from contestants, at Guys & Dolls Styling or at the door on the night of the event.

A coronation ball will follow the pageant at the Buchanan American Legion, located at 403 E. Front St. Tickets for the ball are $5 at the door.

Last year’s queen was Marissa Claxton. She finished as second runner-up at the Miss Blossomtime Pageant.

Mr. Blossomtime representatives are Raekwon Griffin and Josiah Smith.
