Gage Williams is a sophomore on the Dowagiac soccer team.
What has been one of your greatest
accomplishments as an athlete?
GW: All-state in soccer.
What has been one of your biggest
disappointments as an athlete?
GW: Not winning districts in wrestling.
What has been a hardship in your life?
GW: Being small.
Who is a “hero” in your life and why?
GW: Dad and mom always going out of their
way for me.
When are you the most nervous while you
are competing?
GW: Shootouts.
Describe an embarrassing athletic moment.
GW: Missing a ball at Bangor.
How do you tend to workout/train when
by yourself?
GW: Run and lift weights. Practice shooting.
What other sport would you like to compete in if you were not playing yours?
GW: Football.
Who would you say is your “biggest fan?” Why?
GW: My sister. She always supports me.
How would you give away $50,000?
GW: The American Cancer Society.
If you could be the head coach of a team
for a year, what team would you choose?
GW: Notre Dame.
If I did not play sports, I would…?
GW: Focus more on academics.
What is the most challenging thing for you to do in your sport?
GW: Finishing free kicks.
If you could change one rule about your sport, what would it be?
GW: No handballs.
What is the best compliment you have ever received?
GW: Being a great team player.
What was the scariest thing you have had to do? Are you glad you did it?
GW: Marking the best player. Yes.
What was the last thing you saw someone do that really impressed you?
GW: In our last loss our captain Ricky (Lucio) held his head high.
What is your favorite hobby? Why?
GW: Soccer. That is what I love to do.
