BENTON HARBOR — Child & Family Services of Southwestern Michigan Inc. (CFSSWMI) has added four new leaders to its governing board of directors.

William Klein, Eric Lester, Elizabeth McCree, and David Morrissett have joined existing board members to lead the organization in fulfilling its mission of supporting vulnerable people so they may thrive in safe and loving homes.

Klein is noted for his distinguished career in the field of law, having served in both public and private practice. His experience includes work as a domestic relations referee with the Berrien County Trial Court and legal counsel and domestic relations referee with Berrien County Friend of the Court. In addition, Klein is actively involved with local community theatre and other arts associations. He resides in St. Joseph.

Lester is a current resident of St. Joseph Township in Berrien County. A native of Chicago, Lester has a distinguished educational background with the University of Chicago and the National Cancer Institute. His professional expertise is in oncology. He is the author or co-author of more than 60 scientific papers and book chapters.

McCree, attorney at law, is currently working in private practice with expertise in the areas of law related to criminal, child protection, delinquency, probate, estate planning and real estate. She actively pursues efforts for positive systems reform through education, communication and increasing community involvement. McCree resides in Benton Harbor.

Morrissett is a native of St. Joseph and serves as vice president at 1st Source Bank. His career has included various management positions with financial institutions and private industry in Michigan and Georgia. Morrissett earned a masters of business administration – finance degree from Western Michigan University and is a certified cash manager (CCM) as designated from the Association of Financial Professionals.

CFSSWMI originated as the National Children’s Home Society for the District of Michigan and opened its doors on Sept. 28, 1891, to the first child in need of our support. Today, CFSSWMI is a full-service agency serving children, families and adults to the people living in Berrien, Cass and Van Buren counties in Michigan. The organization has begun a yearlong celebration to commemorate 125 years of continuous service.
