Unanswered touchdowns gives Niles freshmen win

NILES - The Niles freshmen football team improved its record to 3-2 on the season with a 36-16 win over Benton Harbor Thursday afternoon.
Benton Harbor scored first and converted the two-point conversion to make it 8-0 early in the first quarter.
Niles scored 36 unanswered points following the Tigers' touchdown. Benton Harbor scored a late fourth quarter touchdown to end the scoring at 36-16. McCade Reese scored two touchdowns and Asaad Ali, Andrew Brawley and Anthony Gladden each scored. Ali rushed for 132 yards and Reese had 103 yards on the ground.
Cody Durham intercepted a pass and Kyle Shields, along with Zach Payne and Matt Karsten, forced or recovered key fumbles for the Vikes. Dan Brawley, freshmen coach, credited the offensive line play of Chris Otolski, Dominique Pompey, Cody Beck, Conrad Muhumuza, Dakota Harding, Dustin Jankoviak and Mark Baker.

NILES - The Niles junior varsity football team dropped a 30-8 decision to visiting Benton Harbor Thursday night in a game that was halted in the third quarter by lightning.
Offensively the Vikings were led by George Washington and Brandon Norris.
Defensively the Vikings got big plays from Jake Ferguson, who recorded a safety, and Quinton Murphy, who had an interception.
