Janice Marie Rittmon, 63, of Berrien Springs, Michigan passed away Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
A celebration of life service will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, at Clark Chapel & Cremation Services, 405 Center St., Dowagiac, Michigan with Reverend Tony Blackamore officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens in Niles. Friends may visit prior to the service from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Janice was born on Oct. 18, 1952, in Elkhart, Indiana to Richard & Ruth (Williams) Christopher. She married her husband, William Rittmon, on July 17, 1973 in Saginaw, Michigan. Janice earned her cosmetology license from the St. Joseph Beauty College. She worked for ten years as a beautician and cosmetologist at the Whitcomb in St. Joseph. Janice had a deep passion for her profession in the beauty and fashion industry. She loved to shop and visit the casino. Janice enjoyed collecting elephants and porcelain dolls. Her family will always remember her fried chicken. Janice was a wonderful cook and made delicious baked goods. She instilled the “Golden Rule” in her family to be honest and to treat others as you would wish to be treated.
Janice is survived by her husband, William; son Damon Christopher of Cassopolis; grandchildren Damon Christopher, Jr. and Bryanna Christopher both of Cassopolis; a sister Carol Christopher of Lubbock, Texas; brothers Thomas Christopher also of Lubbock, Texas, Stephen Christopher and David Christopher both of Cassopolis and Tony Christopher of Atlanta, Georgia. Janice was preceded in death by her parents.
