Bucks serve up a win over Bees

NILES - Buchanan's varsity tennis team improved its record to 6-4 Wednesday afternoon with a 7-1 win over visiting Bridgman in Lakeland Conference action.
Nicole Moyer was the only Buck to suffer a loss due to a knee injury at No. 1 singles, giving the Bees' Lena Thomas the win.
Kayla Nelson took the win at No. 2 singles over Erin McElwain, 6-7, 6-3 and 6-1.
At No. 3 singles Holly Lucas defeated Jeni Helh 6-0 and 6-2 and Joey Dreitzler grabbed a 6-1 and 6-2 win at No. 4 singles against Amanda Klutts.
In doubles flights, the No. 1 doubles team of Robyn Bahr and Aleischa Sheperd took a 6-1 and 6-1 win over Ellie Lyman and Carlee Malevitis.
Katrina Weldy and Courtney Miller took a 6-0 and 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles against Stephanie Kaltz and Tricia Warren.
At No. 3 doubles, Brianne Weldy and Mary Martin were victorious over Kelly Gampel and Emily Kemp, 6-0 and 6-0 and Anna Ferris and Sam Haner took a 6-1 and 6-2 win at No. 4 doubles over Amanda Meyer and Lindsey Clements.
Buchanan will return to the courts on Monday, when the Lady Bucks travel to Coloma. Match time is set to begin at 4 p.m.
On Tuesday, Buchanan will host Schoolcraft, with match time also set to begin at 4 p.m.
