Dowagiac 9-10 All-Stars win second tourament title

STEVENSVILLE — The Dowagiac 9-10 All-Stars won their second championship of the season.
Dowagiac went 2-0 in pool play defeating South Haven 20-5 and then St. Joe 14-0.
In pool play, Andrew Confer, Brayden Peters and Abraham Guernsey had six hits. Peters had 10 RBIs and scored four runs with Guernsey finishing with 5 RBIs and scoring five runs. Confer added five runs and an RBI.
Drayton Rusher, Clayton Miller, Cayden Dorman and Caiden Lubarsky-Smith added five hits. Rusher had three RBIs and scored four runs with Miller adding five RBIs and scored three runs. Dorman scored a run and Smith added an RBI and scored five runs.
Mason Maggert, Kaden Sandora and A.J. Munson each had four hits. Maggert had three RBIs and scored twi runs, Sandora had three RBIs and scored a run, while Munson had three RBIs and scored three runs.
In the semifinals against North Lincoln, the team scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to win 17-16 on a game-winning hit by Confer.
In the game Confer and Guernsey had four hits with Peters, Dorman and Maggert adding three hits each. Kanyon Binns, Rusher, Miller, Lamone Moore, Lubarsky-Smith and Munson adding two hits apiece. Binns led the way with three RBIs, with Confer, Miller, Guernsey, Rusher, Peters and Maggert adding two RBIs each. Miller, Moore, Dorman and Smith each drove in a run.
Peters led in runs scored with three, while Confer, Guernsey, Binns, and Dorman scored two runs each. Rusher, Miller, Maggert, Moore, Smith and Munson each added a run.
In the championship game against Watervliet, the Dowagiac squad won a hard fought 6-5 decision.
Rusher and Moore each had three hits. Confer, Miller, Maggert, Sandore, Dorman, Lubarsky-Smith and Munson each finished with two hits.
Peters, Binns and Guernsey all added a hit. Rusher, Miller, Sandora, Dorman, Moore and Smith all scored a run. Smith had two RBIs with Munson, Dorman, Miller and Guernsey each adding an RBI.
