The skies of Dowagiac will again be alight with the sights and sounds of America’s celebration of its freedom and independence Friday night.
The Young Professionals of Greater Dowagiac are holding their second annual Fourth of July fireworks show that night, setting off fireworks from the grounds of Dowagiac Municipal Airport beginning at dusk. The event is free to the public, with viewing space available at nearby Russom Park.
Parking for the event will be available at the park, located at 28776 Yaw St., at both of its parking lots; at Dowagiac Union High School and National Guard Armory, both located on Prairie Ronde Street; and at the former high school soccer fields, located Paul Street.
Concessions will be sold during the show as well, by members of the local little league and AYSO teams at the park and at the armory.
Members of the Young Professionals will be at the event, assisting visitors and collecting donations for next year’s
fireworks show.
