SOUTH BEND, Ind. — South Bend Civic Theatre revives a community tradition, performing the beloved musical Fiddler on the Roof at the Fischgrund Center for the Performing Arts at St. Patrick’s County Park this summer.
Winner of 10 Tony Awards, Fiddler On The Roof is set in the little village of Anatevka and tells the story of Tevye, a poor dairyman, and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to protect his daughters and instill them with traditional values in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia.
