Henry “Butterball” Gentry, age 70 of Niles, Michigan died Thursday, May 21, 2015, at his daughter’s house, with her family around him, of natural causes.
He was born on Dec. 12, 1944, in Niles to Henry and Rosie (McComber) Gentry. He attended Brandywine Schools and lived in Niles all his life.
Henry enjoyed hunting for mushrooms, going fishing, watching football, and playing cards with his grandkids. He also loved all animals.
Surviving family includes his sisters Doris Sallee, Jackie McGrath, and Betty Gentry, and a brother Robert “Bobby” Gentry, all of Niles; nephews, Steve Thorson, Mike Gentry, and Randy McGrath, a niece, Kathy Fuentes; and a daughter Sharon (Asa) Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Rosie Gentry, and a sister, Mary Dorn.
The family will be gathering for services at a later date.
