The Buchanan Preservation Society is offering a “treasure hunt” at Pears Mill dedicated to discovering some of downtown Buchanan’s interesting architectural features.
It will take place Saturday, May 30.
Photos of the “treasures” will be provided to each person or team, with a map showing the boundaries of the area where the “pieces and parts” of downtown can be found.
The hunt begins at 10:30 at Pears Mill. Contestants will have two hours to find and identify the 20 elements.
First, second and third place prizes will be awarded to the contestants or teams that return before 12:30 p.m. with the elements located and identified correctly.
All ages are welcome and teamwork is encouraged. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The event is sponsored by the Buchanan Preservation Society, with assistance from Buchanan’s Downtown Development Authority and media sponsorship from WVPE. This event is free, but registration is required.
To register, send an email with your name, the event name and date, and a contact phone number to: preservebuchanan@gmail.com.
