Shirley Ann Fox, 77, of Niles, passed away May 1, 2015, at Hansen Hospice Center in Stevensville after a lengthy illness.
Shirley was born on Dec. 24, 1937, to the late William and Rauzy Lowe who preceded her death along with five brothers Therman and Warren of Niles, Robert of Dowagiac, Gale of South Bend, Indiana and Dale of Niles. Shirley graduated from Niles High School in 1955. On July 28, 1956, she married Doyle J. Fox who survives along with two sons Joseph (Linda) Fox and Thomas (April) Fox all of Niles, Michigan; three granddaughters and one great granddaughter, along with a number of special nieces and nephews. Also sister-in-laws Mary Lowe of Niles, Jane Fritz and Mary Lou Fox, and brother-in-law Don Fritz all of Portage, Michigan.
Shirley was employed as a secretary at Kawneer, French Paper Mill, and Simplicity Pattern Co. of Niles. She also enjoyed teaching cake decorating classes for the former Shir-Lee’s Cake and Candy Shop in Niles and the Niles Community Schools Adult Education Program. She retired from Niles Community Schools Food Service Department as a Cashier. Sherley was a very caring and talented person.
A memorial service will be held at Hope Community Church in Niles on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at 11 a.m. at with visitation one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice at Home, Hope Community Church, or Berrien County Humane Society.
