Janice L. (Born) Huston, 77, of New Buffalo, formerly of Dowagiac, passed away Jan. 14, 2015, at her winter home in Zephryhills, Florida.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 2, 2015, with a visitation from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the New Buffalo Bible Baptist Church, 7 East Clay St., New Buffalo, with Pastor James Bouslog officiating. Service will fllow immediately.
Janice was born Jan. 18, 1937, in Dowagiac to the late Richard and Esther (Ball) Born. In 1952, she met the love of her life, and in 1954 she married Thomas L. Huston.
Together they raised five children.
In 1973, with her husband, she moved to New Buffalo, and together owned New Buffalo Auto Parts.
Janice was a devoted wife, mother grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She loved to travel, read, walk and ride her bike.
Janice is survived by her husband of 61 years, Thomas; children Mike (Dionna) Huston, of LaPorte, Indiana; Pamela (Joe) Moore, of Dowagiac; Chris (Judy) Huston, of New Buffalo; Jim Huston of Lawton; Karen (Doug) Rudecki, of Three Oaks; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; her sister, Judy (Gene) Brueck, of Florida; brothers John (Sharon) Born,, of Des Moines, Iowa; Jim (Geri) Born; Jeff (Marilyn) Born, of New Brunswick, Canada and sister-in-law Peggy (Gene) Stemm, of St. Joseph, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice at Home, Berrien County, Alzheimer Association of Southwest Lower Michigan or a charity of the donor’s choice.
