Vikes can’t handle Lancers

NILES - Niles' varsity soccer team suffered a 5-0 loss to visiting Lakeshore Thursday evening in Big 16 West Division play.
The Lancers had a three goal advantage after the first half, scoring at the five, 36 and 37 minute marks.
In the second half, Lakeshore scored two goals, one four minutes into the second half and the second at the 39 minute mark.
The Vikings had seven shots on goal, while the Lancers had 17.
Dan Ott and Taylor Robson had five combined saves for Niles, while Lakeshore had two.
The Vikings, now, 5-3 on the year, 0-2 in divisional play, will return to the field on Tuesday when they travel to Benton Harbor for another Big 16 West Division match-up. Game time is set for 5 p.m.a
On Thursdy, Sept. 22, Niles will host Edwradsburg for a non-conference game set to begin at 5 p.m.
