COLOMA — The Nile baseball team opened its 2015 season with a 6-1 win over Coloma in non-conference action Wednesday.

The game was originally scheduled as a doubleheader at Niles, but the contest was moved to Coloma and switched to a single game.

The Vikings (1-0) scored single runs in the first, third and sixth innings and then scored three in the top of the seventh.

Coloma’s lone run came in the sixth inning.

Niles finished with eight hits, including two each from Alex Hardy and Chris Frantz. Winning pitcher Cody Thornton added a double.
