Gerald Barbour, 76, of Niles, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at his home with his family by his side.
Gerald Barbour was born on May 18, 1937, in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Joseph and Ruth (Miller) Barbour.
Gerald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years and retired as a Major.
On Sept. 7, 1968, he married the love of his life, Pat (Oberle) Barbour at a ceremony at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Ill.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, David (Pattie) Barnes of Williston, Tenn., Robert (Carrie) Barbour of Elkhart and John Barbour of Niles; and three grandchildren, Ava Barbour, Clara Barnes and Sydney Barnes.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gerald’s memory to the Berrien County Humane Society; 9204 Huckleberry Road, Berrien Center, Mich. 49102.
In keeping with Gerald’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2014, at the Pokagon United Methodist Church; 31393 Kansas Street, Dowagiac, MI 49047.
