Mossaline J. Stock, 94, went to be with the Lord Monday evening, April 14, 2014, at her residence.
She was born on June 30, 1919, in Lafayette the daughter of Roy B. and Mary A. (Jenkinson) Thomas, graduated from Lafayette Jeff High School in 1937 and lived in Niles, Mich. for several years prior to moving to Muncie in 2005.
Mrs. Stock was a homemaker who gardened and canned her produce. She and her husband, Vincent were foster parents for a number of years.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Muncie, St. Mark Catholic Church, Niles and Our Lady of the Lake, Edwardsburg, Mich. She was also a Girl Scout leader, and a member of Christian Mothers, the Altar and Rosary Society and the M-60 Home Ec Club in Niles. Her hobbies included cake decorating, crocheting, garage saling, making ceramics, reading, card and playing board games and doing crossword puzzles.
Surviving are two daughters, Loretta Kierein (husband, Jim), Yorktown and Barbara Stock, Luna Pier, Mich.; a son-in-law, Col. (ret.) James Coker, Anderson; a sister, Gladys Faulks Smith, Lafayette, Ind.; her brother, Ronald Thomas (wife, Clarice), Lafayette; 15 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vincent C. Stock; her son, Col. (ret.) Lawrence Stock; a daughter, Diana Coker; and three sisters, Mary Elkins, Dorothy Shepard and Blanche Robinson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 21, 2014, in St. Mary Catholic Church. Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame.
Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Monday at the church.
