Judith Ann Pylar (Gurney), 70, of Great Falls, Mont., passed away March 5, 2014.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Parish with reception to follow in the fellowship room.

Known to her friends as Judy, she was born Nov. 30, 1943, in Sioux City, Iowa and raised in Elk Point, SD. Judy achieved a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master of Science in Administrative Studies with health care emphasis from University of South Dakota.

Judy dedicated more than 35 years to social work in the areas of human services and health care including oncology, HIV disease, pediatrics and surgery. Since moving to Great Falls in 2003, she was appointed director of the CASA Children’s Advocate Network program. Her last role before her recent retirement was executive director of the Cascade County Law Clinic.

Since retiring, she continued to serve on the CASA board of directors and was one of their CASA guardian ad litem. Having lived in Sioux City, Iowa, Niles, Mich. and Great Falls, Mont. her community giving and kindness was shared among several states.

Judy’s loves were her friends and family, her dogs and her gardening. As president of the Great Falls Dog Training club and one of their obedience trainers, she never met a dog she didn’t like. She achieved an Advanced Master Gardener certificate from Michigan State University extension and spent most of her summer time in her garden. Judy was an active attendant of Corpus Christi Parish and served as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.

Judy was a loving, generous mother, grandmother, friend and humanitarian, loved by all. She is survived by her daughters Timory (Jon) Peel and Tracy Kelly (Guy) Blundell; son Seth Norcott; grandchildren Kevin Peel, Callan Peel, Harriet Blundell,

Scarlett Blundell, and Mimi Blundell; and dogs Kura and Eily.
