STEVENSVILLE — A 12-point fourth quarter lead almost wasn’t enough for the Niles boys basketball team Tuesday night.
Leading by 12 early in the final quarter, Lakeshore made one last run at the Vikings, who were playing without leading scorer Tate Brawley due to the broken nose he suffered Friday night.
But the Lancers came up a bit short, falling to Niles 54-50 in Big 16 West Division action.
Gabe Stokes had 17 points to lead Niles, which also got 12 points from both Gavin Rasler and Jeremy Wortham.
Mitch Meyer led Lakeshore (6-10, 6-5 West) with 17 points.
The Vikings improve to 5-7 with the victory and 3-6 in the West Division.
