Benton Harbor hands Niles first loss

BENTON HARBOR — For the first three quarter, visiting Niles gave Benton Harbor all it wanted Tuesday night.
In the final eight minutes, the Tigers (4-1) were able to pull away from the Vikings (4-1) and pick up a 56-60 Big 16 West Division victory.
Niles trailed Benton Harbor by one after the first quarter (12-11) and by two (44-42) heading into the fourth quarter.
The Tigers outscored the Vikings 12-8 to earn the win.
Kysre Gonrezick scored a game-high 27 points for Benton Harbor, which also got 10 points from Denee Brown.
Niles was led by Jazmin Brann’s 14 points and eight rebounds. Libby Moody also had 14 points, while Tatyanna Goodson finished with 10 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
